Slow Cooker Spiced Apple Cider Pork Roast Recipe

The Slow Cooker has become super popular making easy recipes even easier. The Tender Belly culinary team is jumping on board as well, with this Spiced Apple Cider Pork Roast recipe in the Instant Pot.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 pounds of Tender Belly Boneless Boston Pork Butt
  • 2 cups apple cider 
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 
  • Sandwich buns 
For Apple Cabbage Slaw
  • 1/2 head green cabbage (small)
  • 2 Granny Smith apples (small)
  • 1/2 jalapeno pepper (diced)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup apple cider 
  • 2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard 
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed

PREP TIME: 15 minutes

COOK TIME: 8 hours

PREP METHOD:

  1. Place the pork butt in the bowl of the slow cooker.
  2. Measure in the apple cider, cinnamon, salt and pepper.
  3. Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours.
  4. When finished cooking, remove the pork from the slow cooker. Let cool for 10-15 minutes.
  5. When the pork has cooled, remove the fat and shred using forks or your fingers.
  6. Set aside until time to eat.
  7. Mix Apple Cabbage Slaw ingredients to serve on the side.
