DENVER, CO—Tender Belly, a purveyor of all-natural heritage breed pork products, announced that sponsored triathlete Ben Hoffman, has placed second in the world at the 2014 IRONMAN World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, on Oct. 11. The IRONMAN race is known as the ultimate test of mind, body and spirit. Hoffman began his professional career in 2007, earning IRONMAN, Half-Ironman and National Champion victories. He started competing in triathlons in college after looking for something new to do, and Hoffman said the college ranks offered him world-class coaching and a solid team from which to build a professional career. Prior to the IRONMAN World Championships, Hoffman said he treats himself after a race, “Hawaii marks the end of the season, from March through October,” he said. “So I will indulge a little bit – which is important to do in celebration of completing an event that is self-denying in some ways. I like to honor that and give myself a mental and physical break.
