For those of you out there who share our love for crazy delicious and high-quality food, you might already have your go-to place to get your Tender Belly fix. That being said, today we want to mix things up a bit by focusing on five places you might not know about that are some of the best places to find Tender Belly on a menu. Add these to your list, folks (even for those out of town visits). You won’t regret it.
FIRE in The Art Hotel
Known for its new take on New American Cuisine and vibrant interiors, FIRE is, dare we say, the most romantic setting in which you can enjoy smoky-sweet Tender Belly goodness. We suggest the Denver Breakfast Sandwich including scrambled eggs, Tender Belly applewood ham, cheddar, piquillo peppers, and caramelized onions on a toasted English muffin.
500 W 5th Street
Texas might be known for their BBQ, but they are also making headline with soul-to-the-earth amazing cuisine. One of Austin’s best kept secrets is a little gem called Fixe Austin. Picture yourself dining with friends in a quaint little space with mom’s favorite Sunday meals. That’s what chef James Robert is trying to recreate. He creates dishes that represent the soul of the South in a progressive style. Our favorite: the Tender Belly Pork Shoulder with potlikker pinto beans, mustard greens in a jalapeño-kale emulsion.
1553 Platte Street
Carbon Beverage Café & Habit Doughnuts are the twisted Siamese twin of good eats and drinks that you’re going to want to tell your friends about. Undoubtedly the most unique spot on this list, Habit Carbon is actually a dispensary… where the product is part of the food and drink. Do not miss the It’s Tricky N’ Sticky Fritter with Habit brioche, bourbon apples, Tender Belly bacon lardons and sticky toffee glaze. Shut up.
5229 N. Florida Ave.
The sunshine state is bringing a taste of Japan to its central region with the opening of Ichicoro Ramen in Tampa. This mod-casual authentic Ramen-Ya house will serve soulful, delicious food in a uniquely designed setting. On the list of “musts” is the Spicy Abura-Soba with Florida citrus spicy Kosho, Tender Belly bacon and a poached egg.
Vista Verde Guest Ranch
58000 Cowboy Way
This place is actually located on a street called “Cowboy Way” so I think you already know where we’re going with this: dude ranch dining with flair, farmhouse/comfort-food and a kickass breakfast menu. The best part: “All meals are served with ranch potatoes and your choice of Tender Belly bacon or sausage.” Have you ever read a more perfect sentence? No. The answer’s No. Time to go buy a Stetson hat and eat the best.
