Partnership Expands Tender Belly’s Team of Certified Awesome Athletes with One of the Eight Most Inspirational People of All Time
Tender Belly, a purveyor of all-natural heritage breed pork products, is excited to announce their sponsorship of Sean Swarner, the first cancer survivor to summit Mt. Everest and an ongoing spokesperson around the importance of early detection of cancer.
Sean was diagnosed with two different, unrelated and deadly forms of cancer in his teenage years, and after an incredibly poor prognosis through which he spent a year in a medically-induced coma, stunned his doctors when he survived both diseases.
With only one functioning lung, Swarner became the first cancer survivor to summit Mt. Everest and went on to ascend the highest peaks on each continent. "I am thrilled to be a part of Tender Belly’s team of inspiring athletes and support their brand,” said Sean Swarner. “Not only do I believe in the company’s mission, I also love their products and use Tender Belly pork to fuel up for long climbs.”
Tender Belly continues its commitment of supporting athletes that inspire us on and off the field of play.“Sean Swarner displays the type of courage and heart that inspires you to fight for the things you want in life.
His determination and courage is exactly what we look for when partnering with athletes”said Shannon Duffy, owner, Tender Belly. Sean uses his personal struggle to help others, and has topped the highest peaks in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, Australia, Antarctica and North America, thus completing the "7-Summits".
With the completion of the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, and recently returning from an expedition across Antarctica to the South Pole, Sean continues to stand out among the world-class adventurers.
